I make the margins steal the spotlight

Ezgi Alınca is an Istanbul-based film critic, essayist, and the author of two books, Vagon Vagon İstanbul and Yaşamaksa. Her film criticism and essays have appeared in literary, cinema, and arts publications in Türkiye and internationally.

She writes about cinema with a particular fascination for everything that happens beyond the screenplay: the psychology of characters, the visual language of filmmakers, and the details that keep working long after the credits roll. Her criticism combines cinematic analysis, cultural curiosity, and a sense of humor that occasionally steals a scene of its own.

She believes a good film deserves a second viewing. A great one deserves a conversation that refuses to end.
