Michael J. Rosen is the author, editor, or illustrator of over 150 books for readers of all ages. His previous collections of poetry are Every Species of Hope (The Ohio State University Press, 2017), Telling Things (Harcourt Brace, 1998), Traveling in Notions: The Stories of Gordon Penn (University of South Carolina Press, James Dickey Poetry Series, 1997), and A Drink at the Mirage (Princeton University Press, Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets, 1985). I Tell My Cat a Joke and Other Attempts at Detente, will be published by University of WI/Stevens Point in 2028. His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Paris Review, The New Criterion, Salmagundi, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere.
