Fiction Nonfiction

Jeffrey is a journalist and mass media educator in the Department of Communication at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland. He has won several awards for his journalistic writing and for two documentaries he produced while serving as the director of CU News Corps at the University of Colorado. He has also served as the executive director of three journalism-related nonprofits, taught high school English for a decade in Colorado, and advised student media at Colorado State University, the University of Colorado, the University of Kansas and the University of Iowa. Now in his 60s, Jeffrey is turning to historical fiction, telling the stories of the people who lived on the frontier during the last half of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries. His unique blend of storytelling weaves documentary evidence with creative license that hews closely to that evidence, creating believable and most-likely-true landscapes and personal histories of very real people.
