Jeremiah Dutch Non-Member Joined 2024 American writer living in JapanFiction Nonfiction As an American living in Japan for over 25 years my writing crosses both cultures. For over seventeen years I've been teaching at the post-secondary level while continuing to write academic articles, fiction, and non-fiction. Currently I teach at Rikkyo University, and I’m a frequent contributor to Cha: An Asian Literary Journal based out of Hong Kong. Also, In 2022, my short piece, Zen Failure in Kyoto won an Honourable Mention in the Seventh Annual Writers in Kyoto Competition. This was excerpted and adapted from my then novella-in-progress, Gaijin House, due to be anthologized by Running Wild Press in 2028. Another adapted excerpt was published in 2024 under the name Transported Souls in the Motel of Regret in the anthology Mono no Aware: Stories on the Fleeting Nature of Beauty. As a writer and educator I serve as co-editor of a series of graded readers (simplified book for language learners) adapted and localized by my colleague, Jennifer Toews-Shimizu.
