J.J.A. Smith writes speculative fiction under the Ergodic Engine banner: cosmic horror, weird fiction, cli-fi, and literary dark SF. His stories examine institutional power, ecological collapse, consciousness, and class politics, often through people caught inside systems too large to see. His work has appeared in In Parentheses and Corner Bar Magazine, and is scheduled to appear at , Lovecraftiana, Bullet Points, and Dark Horses Magazine. He is also writing Endobiosis, a science fiction novel about fungal collectives, corporate dystopia, and selfhood across a fractured solar system. He lives in Arlington, Virginia.
