J. Thomas Brown’s work spans poetry, fiction, and memoir that have been published in numerous magazines, journals, and anthologies. Growing up, his father’s wanderlust took him up and down the American East Coast and across the ocean to Sweden and England. Settling in Richmond, Virginia, Brown tempered his own wanderlust and focused on writing. He has co-produced local access television programs, coordinated poetry readings, and served as an editor and webmaster for Virginia Writers Project. Recent publications include Land Beneath the Lake, The Hole in the Bone, Cutting Through, and The Rose of Heaven. His poems have appeared in Chelonian Conservation and Biology Journal, Lingering in the Margins, North of Oxford, Rising Voices: Poems Towards a Social Justice Revolution, New Verse News, Rattlecast, Moonstone Press anthologies, and more. His short fiction includes Breaking Them with Words, Their Names are on Skyscrapers, Quantum Angel, Paphiopedilum, and Tromlui.
