Poetry

Lynda Myers, teacher emeritus, late-blooming poet and collage artist, is a native of Oakland, CA. She makes her home in Durham, North Carolina. Lynda loves thresholds, cobblestones, artsy socks, sandals with open-toes, pelicans, poems and asparagus. She’s hooked on poetic form, poets’ writing processes and rituals and revision. In robust older age, her poetic soul hovers over lines that shimmer, teach, embrace, recall, transport, imagine, witness through another’s eyes, remind: Tyehimba Jess, Donald Justice, Galway Kinnell, Pattiann Rogers . . . Her poems speak to what she learned, over 55 years, from her students: dignity, gratitude, resilience, forgiveness. Lynda seeks to publish her manuscript, a poetic, historical and multicultural narrative novel in verse narrative: Sometimes, A Man Stands Up During Supper, and walks outdoors, and keeps on walking. Lynda celebrates 30 years free from authoring technical publications, proposals, & marketing literature for DOD contractors.
