Mark Morton is the author of The Headmasters, a thrilling and thought-provoking YA dystopian novel set in the Canadian Shield. The Winnipeg Free Press has called The Headmasters “a worthy companion to books such as Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale and John Wyndham’s The Chrysalids in contemplating humanity and freedom.” Renowned sci-fi author Robert Sawyer has said, “The Headmasters is a brilliant science-fiction debut from one of Canada’s best-loved nonfiction writers.” Mark is also the author of four books of nonfiction on language, culture, and history. He has broadcast more than a hundred columns on language and culture for Canada’s CBC radio and has written nearly fifty essays for Gastronomica: The Journal of Food and Culture, published by the University of California Press. He is a cofounder of the Winnipeg International Writers Festival.
