Poetry

Matthew Flanagan is an aspiring poet from Dublin, Ireland. As a fifth-generation gas lamplighter in the city's historic Phoenix Park, he has a deep-rooted connection to the park, his local area and his city as a whole. He is graduating from a degree in Physics and Astrophysics at Trinity College Dublin in October 2026, and so feels shares a strong connection with the night sky also. Taking a large interest in Irish pagan traditions, he has found a new respect for the land around him. He has had poetry published in the Dublin based Hearth magazine, Trinity’s esteemed Icarus magazine and the international Fresh Words magazine’s ‘Rain and Roots’ Haiku anthology. He looks forward to submitting elsewhere in the future and hopes that you go stargazing soon.
