Nakeasha Morales is a loving and devoted mother of five.
Too often, she has watched women be judged and ridiculed for what others perceive as careless choices on their journey to motherhood. Perhaps some of those judgments are justified. After all, who should trust a man solely on his word?
But why are his choices and actions so often minimized with a simple, “That’s just what men do,” while the woman is expected to rise above the circumstances, change, grow, and become the mother her child requires?
Born and raised in a small town, Nakeasha learned at an early age that no one was coming to save her. If she wanted a different life, she would have to save herself.
So she did.
She became the first in her family to graduate from college. Now, she has set her sights on becoming a writer—using her voice to explore the injustices, contradictions, and judgments placed on women, particularly mothers whose stories are often reduced to the mistakes others believe they made.
