Ojan Damavandi is an Iranian American multimedia artist and poet living in Portland, Oregon. Their writing expresses the pain of forced departure, of queer resistance, of a loving and forgiving gaze toward an otherwise unbearable world. They hold both tragedy and beauty in their work. Their poems are stories that tie the ancient to the present. When not writing, Ojan is painting, speaking in the languages of gouache, watercolor, and film photography.
