Fiction Poetry Nonfiction

My writing sits at the intersection of research, memory, and form. My essay “Vengeful Pathology in America” appeared in The Write Launch; my poems have appeared in Cathexis Northwest Press, The Dewdrop, Shot Glass Journal, and Oyster River Pages. Two of those poems work deliberately with inherited texts, reworking Breton’s surrealist manifesto and Tennyson’s “The Epic.” I teach that practice of reading closely to write against a source. My thesis, The Talisman, is an experimental cross-genre novel that braids historical fiction, Yoruba and African Diaspora myth, ekphrasis, and archival documents. Building it taught me how much a manuscript depends on structured revision, and how a workshop can help a writer see what a draft is actually doing.
