Rodney Barfield is a historian and author of two histories, one novel, and numerous articles. He has lived and worked near the Outer Banks of NC as a maritime museum director. He has lived in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, where he restored a 19th-century farmhouse and immersed himself in the history of Prohibition and the culture of illicit whiskey in Franklin County.
