Sarah Parfitt grew up between Wales, Virginia, and the Somerset Levels, all of which continue to influence her work. She writes long and short-form fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, and her writing has appeared in print and online. Her writing and research areas include the environmental humanities, nature and climate writing, etymology, the modern Gothic, and strange narrative voices. Sarah has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Kent, and currently teaches writing at the University of Warwick. Her novel THE AMNICOLISTS was shortlisted for the Peggy Chapman-Andrews First Novel Award in the 2025 Bridport Prize, and will be published by Indie Novella in spring 2027.

She now lives in the woods at the edge of Warwickshire with an old grey dog.
