Letting the devils stay out past curfew

Poetry

I started writing a little over a year ago, after the sudden death of my best friend. I didn't know how to get through it without her. She was the brightest light I've ever known and I think perhaps she gave me a little nudge from the beyond to write my way through it, as that's what she would have done. I am a mother and a mess maker, middle aged and mercurial, just trying to write the demons and the fault lines out.
