Steve Rand is the author of A Mother's Prayer, a deeply moving memoir published by Onion River Press. After serving in the Navy as a photographer, Steve studied English, history, and education at the University of Vermont, where he won a writing award, the UVM Allbee Award For Excellence In Writing. He has a Master of Arts In Liberal Studies degree from Dartmouth College. His focus of study was creative writing and cultural studies. He and his wife live in Vermont. They have four children and three grandchildren. Steve enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.
