Sylvia Hollis Ward is a writer based in Jacksonville, Florida. Her writing explores grief, the body, and place through dark humor and surreal or speculative elements. Her nonfiction has appeared in Human Parts, Invisible Illness, and The Startup on Medium. Her poems "Coxae" and "TUESDAY" were selected for consideration in the eighth volume of (a) river rising: Anthology of Women’s Voices. She is currently pursuing an MA in English at the University of North Florida. When she is not writing, she is usually reading, crocheting, painting, photographing Florida, spending time with her family and animals, or making other strange things.
