Valerie is a writer, poet and memoirist. She writes and narrates essays for her Substack newsletter, Glorious Ordinary and is drawn to the poignant and to witnessing the difficult, often mining her own life for material (sometimes she things there’s too much material!). Despite a working class background and urban childhood Valerie found nature in abandoned city lots. She thinks of herself as a happy animist and her attunement with the natural world have been forever intertwined with her creative expression.
