Alessandra Bava is a poet and a translator from the Eternal city. Three of her chapbooks have been published in the US: They Talk About Death, Diagnosis, and Love & Other Demons. Her latest translations in Italian are Diane Seuss’s four-legged girl and frank: sonnets. The former won the Napoli Cultural Classic Award for translation in 2021 and had Diane Seuss being awarded the International Camaiore Poetry Prize in 2023. Her poems and translations have appeared or are upcoming in magazines such as Beloit Poetry Journal, San Pedro River Review, Plath Profiles, and Waxwing. For over a decade she has been the Editor of a series, HerKind, dedicated to contemporary women poets, for the Italian publisher Ensemble. In 2026, her first mosaic novel was published in Italy, Il rione degli arcani.
