David B. Holton is a writer and visual storyteller originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As a cross-media storyteller, he published a short in Oyster River Pages as an Emerging Voice in Fiction; performed nightly as Captain Arthur Barlowe for a season in The Lost Colony outdoor drama; wrote a feature that placed in the semifinals of the Atlanta Film Festival screenplay competition; and directed a short that won “Best Mockumentary Microfilm” at the Austin Comedy Film Festival. Most recently, he won STAAR Theatre’s New One-Act Play contest and was named a 2026-27 Residence playwright at the New Marigny Theatre in New Orleans, LA, where he is developing a full-length stage play. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from NC State, an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a Certificate in Producing for Film, TV, and New Media from UCLA Extension. Before pursuing the arts full-time, he built bridges as a civil engineer and advised Fortune 500 leaders as a management consultant.
