Hector the Alchemist Author is a writer currently living in Muwekma Ohlone land, San Jose, CA.
His previous work has appeared in The Mercury News, UC Santa Cruz Food & Garden Guide, and La Raíz Magazine. Hector has earned the Bay Area American Indian Two Spirits Artist Grant for his workshop series “Dreaming Ourselves Home”. He is also a fellow for the Muses and Melanin for BIPOC Creative Writers intensive.
Hector enjoys writing about vivid dreams, rebirthing the Self, nature as sacred, Indigeneity, Queerness as divinity, religious trauma healing, and neurodiversity.
Hector’s favorite authors include Paolo Coelho, Ocean Vuong, Octavia Butler and Derrick Jensen. Hector is currently working on his memoir, “Radicle Roots: The Lens of the Universe”. It is a creative nonfiction multimedia memoir archiving his life journey — interweaving dream-born lyrics, poetry, art, and photography with stories of family, mental health, relationships, and healing.
