Jack Hammond Jr., MBA, is an educator, novelist, essayist, and lifelong student of American culture and history. A South Carolina English teacher, he has spent years helping students develop the skills to read critically, write clearly, and think independently. His fiction, including Never Enough Words and the Scots Bend stories, explores memory, justice, race, family, and the complicated moral inheritance of the American South. Through his essays and The Common Sense Dispatch, Hammond examines democracy, education, faith, truth, and civic responsibility with a voice shaped by literature, history, and lived experience. Across both his teaching and writing, his work is driven by a belief that words matter and that honest language can challenge complacency, preserve memory, and help people see the world more clearly.
