Margot Canzian Abuathera is a visual artist, photographer and videast. Her work explores exile, not as a single rupture but as something that continues to move through a life long after the initial displacement. Her interest resides in the collective experience of exile as a shared experience, and in the intimate experience of it, in what remains of exile, in the family legacy it leaves behind, and the way it travels from generation to generation, linked to the ordinary life rhythms of individuals. She interrogates these intergenerational transmissions, seeking to understand their effects as something lived in the present.
