Marta López-Luaces (Spain) lives in New York. She is a poet, fiction writer, and translator. She is a Professor of Latin American Literature and Creative Writing at Montclair State University and coordinates the Bilingual Poetry Readings via Zoom. Her fiction includes the short‐story collection La Virgen de la Noche (2009) and the novels Los traductores del viento (2013), winner of the International Latino Book Award, El placer de matar a una madre (Penguin Random House), and Urbanización X (Seix Barral). She has published seven books of poetry. Architects of the Imaginary (Gival Press, 2022), translated into English, won the Pinnacle Award. A selection of her work was translated into Romanian as Prăvălirea focului and into Italian as Accento magico. She translated into Spanish works by Robert Duncan, Dorothea Tanning, Ann Lauterbach, and Peter Gizzi. She served as Speaker for the Humanities of NYC from 2003 to 2005.
