After an award-winning career as a scientist, Michael Fryd returned to his early passion, writing. His short fiction was published in Intrinsick, Easy Street, Page and Spine, Evening Street Press, UK Short Humor, and Story Sanctum. My Mother’s War, his first published full-length work, was a runner-up in the 2023 Maxxy award for creative nonfiction, and Kirkus Reviews called it “Engrossing and immersive...a candid and compelling multigenerational account.” Eva’s Secret is Michael’s debut novel, won an Honorable Mention in the Faulkner-Wisdom Competition for creative writing, and Kirkus called it “an engaging, intimate tale about thriving under the most difficult of situations.”
