Sapphic speculative and contemporary fiction

Fiction

Monica Elexis is a Wisconsin-born writer of sapphic speculative and contemporary fiction, with occasional ventures into queer literature more broadly. She holds a BA in English Literature with a focus in Creative Writing and is currently pursuing an MFA in English and Creative Writing.

Her work is drawn to complicated women, strange worlds, quiet intimacy, and the ways people find connection in circumstances both ordinary and impossible. Whether she’s writing about love after the apocalypse or relationships unfolding somewhere much closer to home, Monica’s stories tend to center queer characters finding belonging, each other, and themselves.

She lives in Wisconsin with an unreasonable number of pets, too much creativity, an ever-growing collection of books, and dreams much larger than the four walls of her office.
