I’m Natalie, a novelist based in Denver, Colorado. In my writing I’m passionate about using fantasy narratives to explore women’s experiences with relationships, politics, social etiquette and everyday acts of violence. My work draws inspiration from the complex, whimsical characters of Frederick Backman, the innovative, smart worldbuilding of the Expanse series by James S.A. Corey, and the sweeping adventures found in Eragon by Christopher Paolini. By day I manage independent bookstore Edgewater Books, where I also help lead the world’s coolest writing group. By night I am working on completing the second draft of my adult epic fantasy novel, a story about a powerless royal daughter who goes on a journey to escape the burden of her prophecy and restore agency over her life. But magical forces intervene, and her destiny becomes something she can no longer run from. It is the first novel in a trilogy which I hope to someday publish for readers everywhere.
