Science, stories, whimsy, and books.

Fiction Nonfiction

Peyton Stich has always had one foot in science and the other somewhere more whimsical, so naturally she became a writer. That path took her to Johns Hopkins University for an MS in Science Writing and to The Science Writer, where her essay “Searching for Bigfin” appears. Eventually, it also led her to opening an independent bookstore—because apparently writing about books wasn’t enough; she needed to surround herself with them, too. These days, she spends her time bouncing between writing, bookselling, reading, and the occasional video game. Somewhere in the middle of all that is Pixel, her cat, who plays fetch and does very little to discourage Peyton’s belief that the world is stranger than we give it credit for.
