Ruth Goring’s poetry collections are The Authority of Hunger (2026), Soap Is Political (2015), and Yellow Doors (2003); she has also written Dearworthy: Little Meditations on the Revelations of Julian of Norwich (2024, with her own botanical illustrations) and several children’s picture books. With photographer Michael Bracey she authored Caras lindas de Colombia / Beautiful Faces of Colombia (2018), a bilingual celebration of Afro-Colombian communities. Brought up in Colombia and now rooted in Chicago, she also makes visual art, translates English-Spanish, gardens with native plants, and does solidarity work.
