Trish Holden is an engineer, scientist, and poet, whose inspirations come from the environment, people, and their intricate interrelationships. The delicacies of closeness, rifts and repairs, grappling and creating, solving while making my own share of messes: these are themes in my poems, with one winning a 2026 Adult Category Belmont Prize; another appearing in the Gunpowder Press anthology "A Feast for Santa Barbara" (2026); and two poems appearing in the June, 2026 issues of Verse-Virtual (https://www.verse-virtual.org/). In these complex times, when people must amplify their humanity, poetry serves as a vital interpreter of inner noise, a gentle door in from the outside, and a vehicle for human connection.
