Headline Poetry & Press exists to feed, motivate, and renew the rising-above-rebellion of this Earthly time. We seek work that tells a story, is relateable, and walks right up to the line of an issue – and sometimes with a toe or even an entire step over that line. We also seek a artistic quality which transports readers INTO themselves by way of a social issue. Work which affirms, reminds, and moves humanity forward. We consider this brave, vulnerable, and necessary work. We believe politics touches each of us; our stories, our beliefs & biases, the food we eat, the water we drink, who we love (and cannot love). In this way, all artistic work is political. We seek brave, vulnerable, accessible work. Work that reports on news stories through various forms, while also restoring us to our common humanity. With this in mind, we leave the question of “Is it political?” up to you.
