Abigail Frank

An agent with Sanford J. Greenburger Associates (see other agents at this agency).

About

Abigail loves weird books that challenge people to see the world in new and expansive ways—with delight, empathy, indignation, curiosity, awe, and humor. She wants to read anything that could make someone think: “I didn’t know books could do that.” She is passionate about stories for young people, especially those that are hilarious in clever ways, heartbreaking in quiet ways, and/or totally swoon-worthy. She gravitates towards picture books that feel entirely original, chapter books with big personalities, and novels about unforgettable teens falling in love. She cares that writing doesn’t underestimate the characters or the audience. For picture books, please note that she is especially interested in author/illustrators and, in general, prioritizes lyrical, inventive texts that are a joy to read aloud. For visual art, she is most drawn to distinct and unexpected aesthetic points of view, especially in the use of color. She is committed to advocating for the work of authors and artists with marginalized identities and is actively looking for stories that invite more young readers to recognize themselves in the books they love. She also represents select adult projects, including highly visual, gift-y, or genre-defying nonfiction, lightly speculative fiction, commercial rom-coms, and anything that examines our relationship to work and capital.

A graduate of Swarthmore College, Abigail joined the Greenburger team in 2017 and has the honor of working with Faith Hamlin on her extraordinary and eclectic list of clients.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
