Julie Romeis Sanders

An agent with East West Literary Agency (see other agents at this agency).

About

Over the past 25 years Julie Romeis Sanders has worked as an editor, bookseller, teacher, and even a ranch hand—which taught her more about the creative life than anything else she’s done. Julie was a founding member of Bloomsbury USA, launched Chronicle’s first fiction list for older readers, and edited their first Caldecott Honor, Flora and the Flamingo. Through it all, Julie has honed her eye for books kids love along with a passion for supporting creators throughout the publishing process.

In her role as a literary agent, Julie brings a steady guiding hand in editorial development, a heart for collaborative partnership, and a feel for making connections. She is seeking stories that spark joy, tears, and laughter as well as characters who leap off the page, unexpected twists, and new perspectives.

Julie lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, two children, and young dog, Ripley. She spends her free time volunteering in equine rescue, paddle boarding, and of course, curling up with a good book.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
