Kristy Hunter

An agent with The Knight Agency (see other agents at this agency).

About

As a graduate of Vanderbilt University and The Columbia Publishing Course, Kristy Hunter began her publishing career in New York City—first as an editorial intern at Bloomsbury Children’s Books and then as a book publicist at Grove/Atlantic and Random House Children’s Books. When she moved to the agenting side of the industry, she was closely mentored by Deidre Knight, president and founder of The Knight Agency. As an agent, Kristy enjoys being able to bring a unique perspective thanks to her diverse publishing background and over 15 years of industry experience. Kristy loves working with authors at any point in their career, and she is thrilled to represent award-winning writers and New York Times bestsellers. When Kristy is not curled up with a good (strong) cup of coffee and a book, she enjoys chasing after her two boys and hiking with her dog.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
