Collapse section Fiction Open

I am actively seeking literary, bookclub and upmarket commercial fiction. I’m drawn to strong, original voices, uplifting narratives and clever storytelling. Fiction with deep emotional hooks, complex characters that become part of your life, and stories with beautiful, memorable prose — with sentences you can’t help but underline and write down in whatever paper or device available.

I have a particular love for historical fiction and women’s fiction, and am open to fiction that crosses genre, especially when it leans into speculative and romance. Some fiction I have enjoyed recently includes In Memoriam by Alice Winn, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, The Wedding People by Alison Espach… anything from Curtis Sittenfeld, Ann Patchett or Elena Ferrante.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
