I am always hungry to read new writers and am actively looking for storytelling that surprises or moves me. I am drawn to strong points of view, especially those of women. I prize books that try to make sense of the work of living and loving and that are shot through with intelligence, wit and feeling whether they will be published as literary or genre fiction or non-fiction.

My client list is an excellent representation of my taste being made up of feminists, provocateurs, Romantics, stylists, escapists and lovers of a good twist. If you write in genre but so well that you have created your own genre, great. If you are a British Ann Patchett or indeed if you are Ann Patchett, please write to me. Other authors I don’t represent but admire enormously include Tana French, Anne Enright, Eleanor Catton, Sarah Waters, and Angela Carter. I learned what I know about storytelling and about love from Noel Streatfield, Judy Blume and Judith Krantz.

I joined DHA in 2004 after working for a late great agent and before that was a publicist. I was born in 1972, have two children and three step-children and live between London and NYC. Today as Managing Director at DHA and a former President of the Association of Authors’ Agents and British Book Industry Awards Agent of the Year I advocate for our clients on the important industry issues that impact the eco-system of writing and publishing. My strong engagement with the economics of publishing means that I have a particular interest in taking on authors mid-career whether bestsellers or not.

As we maintain DHA’s success into its ninetieth year, I could not be prouder of my colleagues and of the writers we represent.
