Lori Kilkelly An agent with LK Literary Agency About LK Literary Agency was founded in 2018 by literary agent Lori Kilkelly. In 2008 Lori left her successful tenure in advertising and sales to pursue her passion for books by attending The Denver Publishing Institute, a post-graduate program at The University of Denver. She subsequently secured an internship that became a near decade-long stint at boutique children’s literary agency Rodeen Literary Management, headed by Paul Rodeen—and home to their award-winning authors like Peter Brown, Victoria Jamieson, Lauren Castillo, and Ryan Higgins.During her tenure at RLM, Lori assembled her own list of talented, best-selling, and award-winning authors and illustrators. Having worked independently for much of her career, she also began to lay the foundation to eventually open her own shop. In the fall of 2018, with the full support of RLM, she formally announced the opening of LK Literary Agency, and was pleased to be joined by all of her clients in her new endeavor. Now, with more than 200 books sold for her clients, and titles at every major trade publisher, she is dedicated to continue bringing meaningful, funny, informative, and moving children's and young adult literature to market, created by the incredibly talented group of creators she feels fortunate to work with every day. Important: She does not currently consider authors who solely write picture book texts. This agent may not respond to all queries. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
