She gravitates toward sharp, stylish psychological thrillers, witty contemporary rom-coms, and historical fiction that explores an underrepresented perspective. Rather than solidly sci-fi or fantasy, she prefers speculative elements that allow the writer to dig deeply into some aspect of humanity (as in Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel or Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro).
