Natalie is currently most interested in and actively seeking out adult fiction, specifically in the following genres: romance, romantasy, and women’s/book club fiction.
In romance, she’s interested in a wide range of subgenres, including historical, contemporary, romcom, western/cowboy, dark, and paranormal romance. Some of her favorite tropes include enemies to lovers/hate to love, workplace romance, forbidden love, fake dating, alpha heroes, marriage of convenience, and forced proximity. She loves stories with big city settings and high emotional stakes. Concepts she’d love to see: main characters who are chefs/stories that take place in restaurant culture, Ireland settings, midlife love stories (if Diane Keaton could’ve starred in it, she wants to read it!).
In romantasy, she’s looking for an equal balance between the love story and world-building, stories that lean gothic, and premises with a fresh take on the tried-and-true tropes of the genre. She’s partial to stories with elemental magic, female characters who can hold their own in a fight, and enemies to lovers storylines. Concepts she’d love to see: sapphic pirates, fantastical grand tours, speculative fiction featuring small coastal towns and mermaids, Carribean folklore, and Shakespearean retellings.
In women’s/bookclub fiction, she’s looking for narratives with a great depth of emotion, explorations of female friendship, coming of age journeys, and mother-daughter stories. Concepts she’d love to see: eldest daughter narratives, early 2000s big city settings, and brother-sister relationships.

She’s not the best fit for the following: romances in the reality tv space, love triangles without a why-choose element, relationships born from infidelity, friends to lovers storylines, romantic suspense; historical women’s fiction/book club fiction, decades-spanning narratives; faith-based narratives, crime fiction, or mysteries/thrillers.
