Rebecca Matte

An agent with kt literary (see other agents at this agency).

About

After a decade in corporate law, Rebecca took the leap and pursued her passion for books. She became a literary agent in 2022 and moved to KT Literary as an Agent in 2026. Rebecca represents all manner of Adult & YA speculative fiction (sci-fi, fantasy, horror, she loves it all) and romance. She is drawn to books that feature diverse, complex characters in deeply rooted relationships - platonic and romantic. She gravitates towards inherently hopeful stories of self-discovery and reinvention at any age, particularly those that center issues of disability, chronic illness, gender and sexuality. Rebecca tries to bring magic to every moment of life, and loves books that do the same.

Fiction Temp Closed

In general, Rebecca absolutely loves adult and YA science fiction/fantasy and queer romance. But no matter the setting—be it a far off kingdom beset by magic or around the corner in Brooklyn—Rebecca seeks out books that feature diverse, complex characters in deeply rooted relationships, platonic and romantic. A well-crafted romance will make her heart sing, while a beautifully detailed friendship will elevate any book to an instant favorite. She also gravitates towards inherently hopeful stories of self-discovery and reinvention at all ages, particularly those that center questions of gender and sexuality. She tries to bring magic to every moment of life, and loves books that do the same.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
