Robert Caskie

An agent with Robert Caskie Ltd.

About

Before establishing Robert Caskie Ltd. I co-founded independent literary agency Caskie Mushens. Previously, I was a senior Literary Agent and COO at Peters Fraser + Dunlop for eight years, after working at MacFarlane Chard Associates and Capel & Land Ltd.

My fiction clients include Sunday Times bestsellers Sarah Winman and Libby Page, Richard and Judy Bookclub author Matson Taylor, and Manda Scott who has been shortlisted for several prizes including the Orange Prize and won the 2019 McIlvanney Prize. My non-fiction clients include Sunday Times Bestsellers Louis Theroux and Clover Stroud, Sir Trevor McDonald, nature writer Marc Hamer, and Lord Michael Cashman.

I also represent many journalists including radio and tv-presenter Emma Barnett, Sunday Times bestsellers Kate Spicer and Lorraine Candy.

Before becoming a literary agent I worked in film PR in New York and I was a founding partner in the 1990s of euphorium restaurant and bakery in Islington.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.
