Ryan Nuzzo

An agent with Speilburg Literary Agency (see other agents at this agency).

About

Ryan worked at Tantor Media before setting his sights on agenting. He enjoyed supporting authors so much as an acquisitions editor, that he wanted to dedicate even more time to them! Ryan is interested in science fiction, fantasy, LitRPG, horror, and romance in both adult and YA and would love to open doors for underrepresented voices. He has experience working with indie authors and would love to continue being a resource for authors in that space.

Ryan enjoys collaborating and is always open to having ideas bounced off of him, no matter how wild. Author career strategy chats are just as fun for him as conversations about character arcs and magic systems. His background in stage management means he isn't afraid to break down each scene of a manuscript into a spreadsheet.

Ryan lives in Connecticut with a bunch of swords. He does Tai Chi, Jianfa (Chinese sword fencing), and HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) so if you need help choreographing a fight scene, you know who to call. He is excited to grow his client list and create lasting partnerships.

Agent Impersonation Scams are becoming commonplace.
A legitimate agent will not contact you and request money to represent you. Never pay an agent an up-front fee. That is not how literary agent representation works. Agents earn a commission only after they've landed a publishing deal for you. Also, agents scarcely ever contact writers. If an agent that you haven't queried contacts you about representation, be suspicious. Look up the agent and check if the email address is correct for that agent/agency.

Before Submitting

We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Duotrope listings do not imply endorsement or recommendation of the agent or agency being listed. Before submitting, you should use your own judgment to determine whether the agent/agency meets your standards.

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the agency/agent.
  • Unless the agency's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • For agency submissions, it is standard to submit a query letter and sample instead of the full manuscript. Do this unless otherwise instructed.
  • Be professional, patient, and persistent.
