Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Shania has been an avid book lover from the moment she picked up Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy. Ever since then, her TBR pile has steadily grown. Shania is drawn to diverse literary worlds that subvert the standard tropes we see in high fantasy, romantasy, dark romance, and horror. She is looking for horror that unsettles rather than overwhelms—atmospheric stories that rely on tension, not gore, in the vein of Nothing But Blackened Teeth and The Library at Hellebore by Cassandra Khaw. She loves slow, deliberate build-ups where dread seeps in quietly and lingers, with intimate body horror and psychologically unsettling character unravellings. Stories where the setting feels alive—watching, distorting, exerting influence—especially appeal to her, as do claustrophobic spaces and gradual descents into madness. As well as YA with crossover potential and NA manuscripts in the horror and fantasy genre. When not reading, she can be found lounging with her cat, Marlow, or studying for her degree.
