Autism Awareness Benefit Anthology

A project of Flying Island Press (see other related projects).

Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions. We provide the following information as an archive.

About

I would like to put a benefit issue together from Flying Island Press, the precedes from which will be donated to AutismSpeaks.org They are an organization that supports autism research. This is a subject dear to me; my six year old son was diagnosed with autism when he was two. I saw this idea presented elsewhere, wrote my story, and never heard anymore about it. Like all the editors at Flying Island Press I am always looking for ways to get well written, engaging and worthwhile fiction to our audience. And this is a way we can enjoy it and also help an amazingly large segment of our population.

Fiction Closed

The story doesn’t need to be about autism, but should include at least one character that is “on the spectrum” or affected by it. PLEASE treat the subject of autism respectfully. The story should be in no way derogatory, condescending or insulting to those who have autism. ( I have to say that. But I am sure that since you are here, and are already interested, it shows that you care about this subject and wouldn’t wish to denigrate in anyway.) These stories will be read by those on the spectrum and that should be kept in mind.
