About

Head Shot Press are currently seeking submissions for Bang!: An Anthology of Noir Fiction. Stories must adhere to the noir genre (although we’re not beyond including neo-noir or hard-boiled in that ball park), however we don’t want slavish reproductions or carbon cut-outs of genre classics. We want new spins on old themes. We want nihilism. And whilst we’re not immune to genre-splicing, we’re more likely to publish nitty-gritty realism rather than space vampires with a noir edge (we’re more Alphaville than Aliens). We want literary, style, substance. We’re especially interested in stories set in locales untraditional to the genre (we want an anthology set upon the world’s stage, not within the same litter-strewn alley in 1940s New York). We’re not interested in your publishing history or how successful you might have been. We’re interested in story and the way in which you tell it.
