About

Fantastical crime noir. Think Sam Spade meets Roger Rabbit in Karl Edward Wagner's story "Into Whose Hands." Speculative elements are required, though we want a variety of ideas; this will not be a book of private eye magicians or grumpy superheroes battling werewolves and vampires on the streets of the local Gotham. Write us your strongest, most dangerous urban fantasy hardboiled crime suspense mortal-against-the-world/system/everybody-else thriller noir. Write grimy, sexy, bloody tales of cruel and desperate motivations and deeds, but avoid gratuitous glorifications of the grotesque. NO SMUT OR VOYEURISM. Let loose your jaded tough guys and gals and let us share in their filthy lucre lives as they best the dirty, diabolical denizens of their cities.
