About

Mythmount Press publishes imaginative fantasy that invites readers to see the world and the human experience from a different angle. We are especially drawn to stories that create a sense of enchantment through wonder, strangeness, transformation, mystery, or a shift in perspective.
For Decomposed, we are seeking original fantasy stories that explore decomposition in any meaningful sense of the word.
We invite writers to interpret decomposed broadly: as an action, a process, a state, or a condition. A body, society, relationship, memory, identity, ecosystem, belief system, spell, language, or world might break down, rot, unravel, transform, or become something new. “Decomposed” may be literal, metaphorical, ecological, emotional, magical, grotesque, beautiful, or strange.
We are less interested in a single prescribed interpretation than in what the idea of decomposition allows you to uncover.
Writers from all genres are welcome, and we encourage genre blending and bending, but every submission must contain a clear and essential fantasy element.
