Dispatches from Anarres Permanently Closed: This project is permanently closed to submissions (May 2019). We provide the following information as an archive. About The year 2018 marked the passing of the great speculative author Ursula K. Le Guin, a longtime resident of Portland, Oregon. In the age of Trump, Portland in many ways is like Anarres, the anarchist capital of The Dispossessed—a “rebel moon” of the Left Coast, home to activists, artists, and yes, anarchists. Hence my new anthology, currently under development: Dispatches from Anarres: Portland Authors Pay Tribute to the Vision of Ursula K. Le Guin. In choosing stories, I'll be looking for engaging, well-written short fiction, inclusive of authors from historically marginalized communities, that engages with various aspects of Le Guin’s work. —Susan DeFreitas, Editor Country of Publication & Year Established United States Established in 2019 Publication Medium & Frequency Print Publication Print PublicationOne-time publication Fiction Closed Audience:Open to a broad Audience, including: People in a specific region.Genres: Open to all/most Genres, including: Fantasy Open to all/most Subgenres Science Fiction Open to all/most SubgenresLengths: Short Story: 1,000 - 5,000 words.Styles:Open to all/most Styles, including: Literary.Topics: Other: See guidelines.Payment:Unknown payment Unknown payment.Submissions:Method: Electronic submissions.
