About

We have been told that our universe begins and ends with what we perceive - that our perception defines our reality. If that were the case, then when we close our eyes the universe would simply disappear. A great writer that closes his or her eyes sees innumerable different universes that are just as lucid as reality. These alternate universes inform, expand, and enlighten our understanding of the human experience. Divertir Publishing intends to publish a collection of short stories that plumbs the depths of the unreal. We are looking specifically for exceptional, well written, and engaging stories of unexplored dimensions, alternate universes, augmented reality, and time travel. It is up to you how these new places will look, sound, and feel as well as whether or not you would like to carefully redraw the line between what is and what isn’t, only slightly blur it, or completely erase it. We want your stories to be clever and evocative, substantive and imaginative. However, no matter how far you take us away from planet Earth your story must have something to say about the human condition. We are not looking for erotica or generic science fiction clichés, only unique and creative material.
