About

The Poetry Box has recently relocated to Portland, Oregon…land of all things weird…at least, that’s what we’ve been told. Everywhere we turn, we see billboards preaching “Keep Portland Weird” or bumper stickers touting “Weird Is Where It’s At”. If I could remember my Twitter password, I’d tweet this with HashtagKeepPortlandWeird (or is that #KeepPortlandWeird?)…I may have to consult my kids about that one. Now, don’t get me wrong; we were diligent in our preparation for the new locale …watching episodes of Grimm in case we encounter strange Wesen creatures and binge-watching Portlandia while munching on VooDoo Donuts to learn how to recycle our toothpicks. But, now that we’ve been here a month, I’m sure we have so much more to learn about this delicious melting pot of human creativity and sustainability. And that’s where YOU come in! Send us your Poetry and Flash Fiction. Tell us your stories about Portland…no matter how weird they may be. We don’t blur butt cracks and we don’t sensor. In other words, anything goes!
